Punar Samskara
Punar Samskara is a vital and deeply symbolic ritual conducted when the deceased’s body was either improperly cremated or could not be recovered, leaving the essential last rites incomplete. To address this, a symbolic human form is created using Darbha grass and ceremonially cremated. This is followed by key rituals such as Asthi Sanchayana (ash collection), Sampoorna Kriya, Pathinarootu, acts of atonement, Tilahoma (offering with sesame seeds), and other sacred rites. These practices are undertaken to ensure the soul’s liberation, fulfilling spiritual responsibilities and offering solace to the bereaved family.
